NOVO PIZZERIA AND WINE BAR

Located in Kitsilano, next to Fifth Avenue Cinemas, Novo is the ultimate spot for dinner and a movie. I have yet to order something that I didn't love. One of my favourite things about Novo, is eating outside on their patio on a sunny afternoon. You are surrounded by the restaurants herb garden, which includes rosemary and basil. I am still working my way through the menu but all the items that I have tried and loved are:

antipasti

Burrata

Organic arugula, sweet balsamic reduction, campari tomatoes, house artisan bread

If you like burrata, you are going to love this dish.

Order it if you are extra hungry or if you want a light main.

insalate

Novo Rustico

mixed artisan lettuce, crispy pancetta, queen olives, lemon vinaigrette, basil pesto

This salad is the closest thing to a house salad at Novo. I like to order this salad to share when splitting a few pizza's amongst friends or family.

wood-fired pizza

Funghi

truffled mushrooms, fontina, chives

This is a classic. I order this pizza every time. If you like truffles you are in for a treat.

Margherita

San Marzano tomatoes, fior de latte, basil, Parmigiano-Reggiano

This Margherita pizza is done right. If you like simple pizza done right then this is the pizza for you.

Cinque Fromaggi

fior de latte, fontina, Parmigiano-Reggiano, smoked provolone, gorgonzola, pepperoncini

This pizza is meant for cheese lovers. You get a subtle punch of flavour thanks to the gorgonzola and the pepperoncini makes for a nice spicy topping.
