HERB FLORAL ARRANGEMENTS
A few years back, I got super into learning how to properly store my herbs, like many of you I’m sure, I was placing them in glass jars around my kitchen and in the fridge. However, it’s been a few years later and I think I’ve finally found my favourite way to store them.
When I planted my herb box this year, I also left room for my favourite fresh blooms. I wanted to grow flowers I could snip and bring home to pop into a bud vase. So the first time I went to harvest some herbs, I brought a vase with me to collect the herbs and a few fresh flowers from my garden.
When I was snipping the herbs and placing them in the vase, I realized just how beautiful the herbs and freshly cut florals looked in the vase and I decided to start arranging them. Now you can have fresh herbs and a floral centrepiece for your home.
I’ll breakdown how I went about arranging them and what all is in my first arrangement.
HERB ARRANGEMENT NO. 1
Italian Parsley, 3 sprigs
Orange Mint, 2 sprigs
Mojito Mint, 2 sprigs
Cosmos (white), 3
I used a short floral vase that I picked up from a florist to make my own arrangements with. I cut long bushy herb stems and cut my cosmos that had the longest stems (they were only planted a month ago so they’re still on the shorter side). I like my arrangements to look more on the organic side so I had the long herb stems extend out the sides and used shorter herb stems to fill out the middle and frame the florals.
I hope you enjoy arranging some herbs too!
I used my fresh mint in my favourite sparkling water with fresh lemon and mint mocktail. For the recipe, click here.
