OUR BABY PURCHASES SO FAR
Prepping for our little boy to arrive has been so fun. I’ve loved sitting down on the couch and making mood board after mood board of the different items we’ll be needing.
Before we knew the gender I shopped as gender neutral as possible and still continue to for the bigger purchases as I want to be able to use those items for our second child no matter the gender.
EVERYDAY ESSENTIALS
ON THE GO / DIAPER BAG
I opted for darker colours for a lot of the items that will be living inside my diaper bag. I wanted them all to match our stroller and I loved the pattern on the Pehr changing pad and on the go bag.
FEEDING / PUMPING
After a lot of debate between silicone and glass we decided to go with glass in the end. We’ve read that glass is the least dangerous when it comes to toxins leaking into the babies milk so that seemed like the best option for us, however I see us switching to silicon or something softer when the baby gets older and develops the ability to throw lol. As for the pumps, I did a lot of research and felt the Ameda Mya Joy was very well reviewed and sounded like what I was looking for but I have yet to use it so I’m just going off of reviews at this point and I read that it’s great to have a manual pump as well and decided to go with the Avent for the same reasons as the Ameda Mya Joy.
TOYS
When it comes to stuffed animals, I have no willpower, I don’t think Nick does either. They’re so hard to resist but I’ve tried to cut myself off now. As for our little activity gym, I had another picked out because I’m not usually a fan of writing on items but I just couldn’t stop envisioning our little baby playing with the Winnie the Pooh and bumble bees hanging from the clouds.
SLEEPING / CHANGING
After a lot of research we landed on the Eufy SpaceView Monitor for our choice of baby monitor. We looked into the owlet, nannit…etc but they weren’t right for us. A few of the selling features on the one we chose for us were: a dedicated screen apart from our iPhones, image quality, wide angle lens, ability to zoom, 1000 foot range and just overall good features including the ability to talk through it. The diaper pale was one recommended by my brother and sister in-law. I also did a bunch of research on baby wipes and landed on the hello bello. They have minimal ingredients like water wipes but are less expensive and have better packaging for containing the moisture once the package has been opened so we will be trying those out first.
WALKING
When it came to our stroller we decided to go with the Uppa Baby for a few reasons. My brother and sister-in-law used this for our nephew and I loved using it when I would take him for walks. I also preferred how it loaded the second child over the nuna stroller.
When it came to items that would often be carried in the stroller I’ve tried to keep them all matching. Most of you will probably be surprised that we didn’t go with the oatmeal coloured stroller. After much debate, that decision mostly came down to two major points. One being that I didn’t want it to get stained or have to worry about cleaning it too often. Second being that when I thought about Nick and my wardrobe the black just seemed like a better choice for us. I did however splurge on some aesthetic change ups for the black Uppa Baby V2. We ordered the saddle coloured rumble bar and handlebar covers. I loved the look of the Nuna black stroller with brown leather details and wanted that look but with the Uppa Baby.
