JOIE WINERY
Nick and I fell in love with Joie Winery when we were in Penticton visiting our friend Emma. She toured us around a bunch of the wineries in Naramata but this one really stood out.
First off, the decor in the tasting area was stunning. The interior design was totally up my alley. I didn't get any pictures myself because I was a few too many glasses of wine it at that point to remember to get a picture but if you check out their instagram geotag you'll get a glimpse of it.
The wine was also amazing! We had a really hard time deciding which wines to get because we liked so many of them. We ended up deciding on The Noble Blend a light and tasty white wine and "En Famille" a beautiful red. They are our two new favourite wines.
If that didn't sound amazing enough, when you leave the tasting room you can sit out on their backyard patio/picnic area. They have lounge chairs, tables and picnic blankets set up all over the place so you can enjoy a glass of wine while taking in the stunning view of the lake and surrounding areas. They had backyard games set up and stand where you could order authentic italian wood burning oven pizza, potatoes, fruit popsicles, ice cream sandwiches, roasted almonds and more. Everything was so good and it was perfect. The margarita pizza was just as good as any pizza I had in italy while I was there. The tomato sauce was so fresh, it felt like I was back in italy, especially with the setting we were in.
What we ordered
THE BIANCA
Wood Fire Oven Pizza with cheese, zucchini, sausage and greens. It was absolutely delicous!
THE MARGHERITA
Tomato Sauce, Basil and Cheese. This was the best pizza I've had since my trip to italy years ago. It was absolutely perfect.
THE NOBLE BLEND
A delicious and light white wine
EN FAMILLE
A beautiful red wine. I am usually not a huge red wine lover but I fell in love with this one.
ICE CREAM SANDWICH
Slightly orange flavoured ice cream sandwiched between two homemade oatmeal cookies. This was the icing on the cake. Nick and I split the ice cream sandwich and it was so good!
