MY POSTPARTUM ESSENTIALS
Those first few days/weeks after giving birth you can be quite sensitive. I found having the right products made such a tremendous difference in how I felt and how I healed. These are the products that made my healing journey a lot faster and more comfortable. The frida mom witch hazel pad liners and healing foam were so soothing, they really helped with any pain or discomfort I was feeling those first few days especially. I delivered vaginally so these are the products I used but Frida mom also has a c-section kit.
Frida Mom (individual products)
Easier to use than the one they give you in the hospital.
Witch hazel cooling pad liners
I liked these better than tucks as they were longer and easier to use.
This was my favourite thing, it was cooling and very soothing especially when paired with the witch hazel cooling pad liners.
I didn’t end up using these but I’m glad I had them just in case.
not included in the kit linked below.
Disposable Postpartum underwear
better than always discrete for the first few weeks when you’re lining more things in your underwear.
super convenient for the first few days and weeks because you don’t need to keep them in the freezer, you break them and they turn cold.
Frida Mom Hospital Packing Kit (kit with most items listed above included plus some additional items, I ended up needing to order more witch hazel cooling pad liners.) what’s included:
upside down peri bottle
disposable post partum underwear
this was great
labor and delivery socks
instant ice maxi pads
perineal cooling pad liners
perineal healing foam
travel essential bag
Always xtra protection daily panty liners for women,
to wear with your frida mom hospital underwear to absorb the blood. I used these once I ran out of pads from the hospital. They’re nice and thin so they don’t take up a lot of space.
Always discrete disposable underwear
great for the weeks following birth when you’re continuing to bleed but no longer needing to apply all of the healing products.
Reusable ice packs with washable sleeves
great when you’re more mobile and at home with access to a freezer, we did have a freezer in our hospital room but all hospitals may not have this.
A stool softener or laxative. The hospital gave me some and that’s all I needed.
for breastfeeding
Absolutely essential to have on hand and apply preventatively. I use this every few days or after I’m starting to feel sore from pumping and it really helps and I haven’t had any issues with cracking…etc.
